In the local elections for the parliaments of Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the Left Party won in Berlin with 24.5%, while the Alternative Party led in Pomerania with 37%. Chancellor Friedrich Merz's party took second place in Berlin and only 5.5% in Pomerania.
